Alwis Muthuwadige (Nilu)

Social Worker, Positive Behaviour Practitioner, Healthy Mind

Nilu is a passionate social worker who values compassion, cultural understanding, and meaningful connection in her practice. She enjoys being part of the Healthy Mind Australia team and appreciates the friendliness, knowledge, and genuine dedication her colleagues show toward supporting their clients. Nilu is inspired by the organisation’s commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families through person-centred support.

Nilu holds a Master of Social Work from Federation University in Australia and a Bachelor of Laws from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University in Sri Lanka. She also has an academic background in psychology and counselling, alongside training in art therapy. With this multidisciplinary foundation, she brings a holistic perspective to her work, supporting clients with empathy, creativity, and respect for their individual experiences.

In addition to her work in social services, Nilu is a professional Mandala artist with more than a decade of experience. She is passionate about using creativity and mindfulness as tools for emotional expression and personal growth. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, practising meditation and yoga, and exploring ways to integrate art and wellbeing into everyday life.
